MY GOODNESS!! TIME FLIES

As we start nearing August month and the mid-year mark already weeks in the past, the favourite cliché that in coined year in and year out is, “Sho! Where has this year gone?”

I am sure you would agree that this phrase echoes the undertone of regret, a regret that is considered largely due to circumstances outside of our control, or so we are led to believe.

This year I decided to take a different approach. Adopting the practice of mindfulness, in particular to be mindful to always have a deep-seated attitude of gratitude at the forefront of my mind. Every moment I have when my mind comes to rest during the day, I go into “park” in the gratitude bay. As I started this practice, it took a lot of effort to remember where to “park”, but with time gratitude became a default habit.

Secondly, I have also learnt that to build the gratitude muscle is to find value in every joy and in every challenge faced in each day. Think and grow into the power of knowing that LIFE DOESN’T HAPPEN TO YOU, IT HAPPENS FOR YOU. Everything we face will either make us or break us. It really is a choice!

So, 7 months in, as the world races downhill to the end of the year, I reflect on 7 months of life well lived through every circumstance, good or bad, happy or sad and I am grateful for every lesson a have learned. Life has not passed me by or run away with me because with a heart of gratitude, I have lived each moment to the full with not a single day wasted.

There are 5 months left, join me in this life well lived and loaded with gratitude. This will lead to living with no regret of what could have, would have, should have been. Then, don’t judge others for feeling the pain of the fleeting days, weeks and months. Let your gratitude radiate from within you and they will feel it too.

Sending love,
